Fog, 14°C
A Heartbreaking Loss
The rain let up in the afternoon so we could hear out to watch the Brumbies play the Reds. The stadium was a mere 15 minute walk from our hotel and we stopped along the way to have dinner at a Mexican restaurant.
The temperature had really dropped today and we had to wear long sleeve shirts as well as a jacket. We arrived at the game early, as we normally do, so we could watch the players warm up. Emily called out to Stephen Moore who recognised her and waved back.
The game was a bit of a fizzer. There were too many unforced errors from both teams and the Brumbies missed a couple of sure fire tries. The ground was still wet which made the ball hard to handle. Heartbreaking we lost by 1 point with the final points being scored in the last 10 seconds. The fog set in half way through he game and visibility at the ground became quite poor.
The highlight of the night came after the game had ended. Bron, Thomas and Ben had already left their seats and made their way up to the concourse. Matthew, Emily and I were following quite a way behind when Matthew saw his favourite player Henry Speight in the middle of the ground. The yelled his name at the top of his lungs and beckoned him to come over, which he did. He even climbed over the barrier and game them both a big hug and thanked them for traveling from Canberra to watch them play. It made their night.
