The Future is Here

It was an early start again as I had booked an activity for Emily and Matthew at the Queensland State Library. We stopped along the way for some hot chocolates as the weather had finally turned cold. It had been raining overnight and the forecast was for more rain during the day.

The activity was called Cubetto and it involved programming a little cube robot. It is all part of a wider initiative to ensure that all children learn how to code from a really young age. Sombre say that programming is the second language that every child should be taught at school.

While Emily and Matthew were doing their coding, Ben and I went through the Digital Futures Display. They had displays that included Hololens, VR Headsets, XBox 1 and heaps more. They even had a working Windows 3.1 computer.

We had lunch at the cafe near the library and then came back to the room so Tom could have a sleep.
