#Dolphin-ately worth it

The Hilton Waikola Resort that we are staying at has dolphins in its Lagoon and they provide opportunities for the guests to swim with the dolphins. They also provide a program where kids can become a dolphin trainer for the day. I had signed up Ben and Matthew to do that today and it was absolutely fantastic.

It was a bit of an early start and the boys had breakfast in the room even before the others had woken up. I escorted them to the Dolphin Encounter area and they headed off with the instructors. They get to go behind the scenes and see how the dolphins are trained. They will also be part of the various shows during the day. Emily, Thomas, Bron and I came to watch one of the shows and it looked like they were having a blast. They even got to feed and kiss the dolphins.

In the afternoon, Emily had a similar opportunity, however at a much smaller scale. She got to go in the water with the dolphins and tickle them as they swam all around her. She was a bit scared to kiss the dolphin but did feed them some live fish.

It was a great experience for all of them and we ended the day with some swimming in the lagoon. The kids had a room service dinner and then started in the room with a baby sitter while Bron and I went out to dinner ourselves.
