Today is the final day of our short break to Brisbane and I didn’t have any activities pre-booked. We started the day with breakfast at a little cafe called Brew down a narrow lane way. It was grungy and the menus were within old record covers. The food was quite good too. They had board games and coloring books. Matthew and I played a game of chess while Emily did some coloring in. Ben read his book and Thomas slept.
We then wandered back to the state library and went to their children activity corner which was themed as the Antarctic. Matthew made some paper snow flakes and Emily played in a little teepee and model boat. Thomas, awake after his sleep, crawled all over the activity room.
We then went to the Gallery of Modern Art which had a special interactive display for kids to create masks. They had some existing templates and you could then cut out the various features and stick it on. Matthew and Emily got really into it and spent quite a while in here. Thomas made a friend, a little girl who had just turned one would crawl after him and give him a kiss. She did it a few times and he was quite bemused.
Four dinner I had booked a Brazilian Churrasco restaurant. I had taken the boys to a similar restaurant when we were in Sydney and they loved it. The got really into it and consumed a very large amount of meat. It was all very well cooked and they even had chicken hearts.
