We went on a walking and boat tour of Prague today. Bron decided to stay in the room with Tom so it was just me with the older kids.
The tour was a big disappointment. I was hoping that the guide would take us from Old Town via Charles bridge to the Prague palace. Instead we quickly walked through Old Town and she didn’t run us through any of the sights. I wanted more information about the Astronomical Clock and also the history of the city but there was none of that. We visited a glass making store where we saw a $1.2M vase, which I was really worried the kids would knock over.
We quickly walked through the old Jewish town. Till the 1850s all the Jews in town had to live within their own community which was walled in. It was only during the industrial revolution that the wall finally came down.
We boarded a boat for lunch and that’s where the tour kinda stopped. The guide sat and ate with us and only answered questions, there was no proactive information sharing.
The cruise went along the Vltava river, which is stepped. So we went through, what the kids called a, boat elevator to go up and down the levels. We got a great view of the city and could see why it’s called the City with a 1000 spires.
