Mush

The kids and I were booked on a husky safari today. We arrived all decked out in our warmest gear, and it was lucky that we did, as it was the coldest that I have ever felt on my life.

Even before we got onto the husky sleighs our extremities were feeling numb. Poor Emily, she just had had enough and wouldn’t stop crying. As a sleigh only fits 2 children, Ben went with a couple from NZ who only had one daughter, while Matthew and Emily went with me. Emily sat on Matthew’s lap and he was incredibly patient with her.

We got taught how to control the huskies and then of we went. It was a fantastic experience. The huskies are noisy and barked and yelped the whole time. This helped to negate the crying from Emily.

By the time we got back to the camp an hour later Emily was well and truly over it. I sat her down in front of her camp fire and over the next 20 minutes she finally thawed out.
