The kids woke up really excited as we are heading to Rovaniemi today, the official home of Santa Claus. We flew Finnair which is the official airline of Santa Claus. Check-in was a breeze as Finnair is part of OneWorld which meant that our Qantas status got us priority treatment. It, however, didn’t get us into the lounge as they only allow one guest per member.

In the craziness of packing and leaving the hotel this morning we realised that Matthew had forgotten his bum bag. This had his camera, Lego figures and his travel passport/autograph book. Working backwards we realised that he had left it at Fraser’s when we went there for dessert last night. After a couple of frantic phone calls we organised for the hotel concierge to collect the bag from Fraser’s and then mail it to us in Australia.

A bit later Ben realised that he left his wrist watch in the hotel as well. Apparently he took it off during breakfast and doesn’t remember putting it back on. Another couple of phone calls ensued and the staff were able to locate the watch under the table. This got added to the package that the hotel will be sending back.
