Aarhus
We arrived into Aarhus with no transportation in sight. Our transfer didnt show and after a few frantic calls they organised a replacement – which happened to be a full size bus, just for us. The kids were ecstatic and spent the first part of the trip trying to figure out where to sit. The hotel was only 10 minutes away and inn arrival our rooms were ready and waiting.

It seemed a lot warmer in Aarhus, compared to Odense and we decided to go for a walk and take in the surroundings. Luckily Bron convinced me to take my gloves and beanie just in case.

Once the sun set at about 4 pm the temperature just dropped and before long it was -2. We walked through some Christmas markets with some incredible handicrafts. There was fine metal work, porcelain, ceramics and woollens. There was not a Chinese made product anywhere in sight.

After the markets we wandered through the shipping district. We had some caramelized nuts that was roasted in front of us and we ate warm. Bron visited a number of the local shops, especially those with Christmas decorations. The kids were enthralled by a giant Lego display which had buildings from around Aarhus as well as a skiing Santa.

By 6 o’clock it was pitch black and bone chillingly cold and we made our way back to the hotel. The concert theatre next door had a live musical performance of Frozen, called Frost, which unfortunately won’t be on till the end of the month.
